Description

Magnetic drums are composed of a static magnetic circuit and a not-magnetic cylindrical housing. They attract the ferrous intrusions in the inert material and will hold them on the housing surface which is cylindrical. When the inert material falls, the intrusions are going to be discharged only when the housing is outside the static magnetic field’s influence. The magnetic drums can have a different pole layout to handle different materials. The usual layout is lengthwise, N and S poles that will alternate along the circumference of the drum. Crosswise, the N and S poles alternate along the drum’s axis. The magnetic field is generated by a direct current fed coil and here it would be the case of the drum having an electrical control board.
